Head Basketball Coach
Aaron Christian
In his second season at Concordia, Aaron Christian will look to continue transforming the Cavalier women’s basketball program. The 32-year-old Christian arrived to CU from Clark College, where he was the head coach for two seasons.
This is the second time that Aaron has been a part of the Concordia University staff as he served as a men’s assistant coach under Brad Barbarick for the 2000-01 season.
Prior to his position at Clark, Christian served as a men’s assistant coach at the University of California at Davis, Butte College (Oroville, California), and Pierce College (Lakewood, Washington). He also spent one season as Director of Basketball Operations at Portland State University.
Christian received his bachelor’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University in 1997, and was an assistant boy’s basketball coach at Fife High School for four years while he was a PLU student. He went on to earn his master’s degree in education/athletic administration from Washington State University in 2000, and was the video coordinator for the Cougars’ men’s basketball program for two seasons.
Christian is also the co-founder and Associate Executive Director of Win the Tip!, a basketball coaches network. He has served as an instructor at more than two dozen basketball camps across the country, including UCLA, Gonzaga, the University of Connecticut, the University of California, Washington State University, Rip City Hoop Camp, A.C. Green Hoop Camp, Brian Grant Hoop Camp and the West Coast All-Star Camp.
Aaron and his wife of nine years, Julie, live in Vancouver and have a son Evan, who was born in the summer of 2006.
