The Cavaliers have emerged as one of the dominant teams in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with Carrie Kosderka-Farrell as head coach. In her first season at Concordia, Kosderka-Farrell took the program from a 6-27 record in 2003 to a 24-23 record in 2004. Five members of the 2004 squad made the all-conference team and two players made the all-region first team. There was continued improvement and success in 2005, with a number of players earning all-conference honors. In 2006 CU took major steps in becoming a force in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Cavs made their first trip to reginals since 2000.
"I look for this season for the program to take a few more big steps" stated Kosderka-Farrell. "The girls have really come together. They have a mission and will do what it takes to see it through."
Carrie Kosderka-Farrell graduated from the University of Utah in 2001 with a degree in Social Science with an emphasis in Secondary Education. She also competed in collegiate softball at the University of Utah for two years before ending her career due to a back injury. During her at career at Utah, Kosderka-Farrell received Mountain West Conference academic honors in 2000 and 2001.
Kosderka-Farrell was an assistant coach at the University of Utah for two seasons before coming to Concordia University. At Utah, she was the recruiting coordinator in 2002 and was the infield coach in 2002 and 2003. Over her six years at Utah, Kosderka-Farrell was and instructor and camp director of several softball camps and clinics through out the Salt Lake Valley. She also spent two summers coaching 18U ASA softball.
