Junior forward Tahlia O'Loghlin scored a goal in her second straight game for the Cavaliers.
WALLA WALLA, Wash.—Concordia, ranked No. 3 in the NAIA Women’s Soccer Preseason Poll, posted its second straight shutout to start the season with a 2-0 win over Carroll College on Sunday.
With the result, CU improved to 2-0-0 while Carroll fell to 1-1-0.
Concordia’s Tahlia O’Loughlin scored in the 23rd minute with an assist from Lauryn Helmers while Sami Andrews scored in the 79th minute after being setup by Kaitlyn Tebbs for the team’s second goal.
Tori Talbutt started in goal for the Cavs to earn the win.
Complete stats were not immediately available.
“Our defense played well,” CU head coach Grant Landy said. “In the first half we did exactly what wanted to do by moving the ball around.  There was a period where they came after us in the second half and Tori came up big with a couple of big saves.”
The Cavs return to action on Sept. 3 when it hosts Canada’s University College of the Fraser Valley.
