Kayla Vickaryous
TOWSON, Md.--Concordia University outfielder Kayla Vickaryous was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America® College Division softball second team last week by a vote of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
A junior from Castle Rock, Wash., Vickaryous finished the season tied for the team lead with a .390 batting average as the Concordia lead-off hitter. She also led the team with 12 stolen bases.
A Gold Glove winner at the conference level, Vickaryous did not committed an error all season while starting all 42 games in center field for the Cavaliers.
Concordia finished the year with a 35-7 overall record and a 21-3 record in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. The Cavaliers captured the CCC Championships and earned a bid into the NAIA National Championships.
To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors, student-athletes must have a 3.30 or better cumulative GPA on a 4-point scale, have sophomore athletic standing, and be a starter or key reserve for their team.
