Day 1 Results
WILDER, Idaho—With the top five individuals on the leaderboard, the Concordia women’s golf team took a commanding first-day lead at the College of Idaho Invitational held at River Bend Golf Course on Monday.
Concordia (305-308—613), ranked No. 6 in the NAIA, fired a two-round total of 613 for a 61-stroke lead over the host Yotes of College of Idaho (340-334—674). Northwest Christian (354-359—713) ended the day in third place while Corban (392-400—792) came in fourth.
Madeline Jarrett (73-76—149) fired a 1-over 73 in the opening round to take the individual lead and returned with a 76 for a 4-stroke lead over teammate Lindsay Aho (77-76—153).
Two strokes back of Aho,
Sara Taylor (76-79—155) carded a 155 for third overall and was followed by teammates
Holly Speer (79-77—156) and
Kim Lindow (79-80—159) in fourth and fifth place, respectively, as the Cavs did not record a round higher than an 80.
C of I’s Cecelia Garcia (83-79—162) posted the lowest non-Concordia score with a 162 for sixth place, one stroke ahead of NCU’s top finisher, Ashley King (79-84—163). Hailey Thomas (89-99—188) paced the Corban contingent in 17th place. Warner Pacific, fielding an incomplete team, was led by Rachel Murphy (86-85—171) who entered the clubhouse tied for ninth.
The final round of the event will begin with a shotgun start tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
