Will Snow shot a first-round 69 to help Concordia to an opening-day lead at The College of Idaho Invitational held at River Bend Golf Course on Monday.
The Cavaliers (296-290—586) hold a two-round team total of 586 – seven shots ahead of the host Coyotes (298-295—593), who cut three shots off their opening round to come back around with a 295. Northwest Nazarene (301-302—603) trails the Yotes by 10 strokes and was followed by Northwest Christian (299-308—607) in fourth, Simpson (307-312—619) in fifth, Corban (307-319—626) in sixth and Warner Pacific (319-317—636) in seventh.
Snow (69-72—141) finished atop of the leaderboard at 3-under par, one shot ahead of teammate Jed Dalton (71-71—142) and C of I’s Tyler Thurston (70-72—142) after 36 holes.
Brent McKee (72-72—144) of Northwest Christian and Mitch Card (71-73-144) of Simpson University each sit three strokes back at an even-par 144.
Jonny Miller (75-73—146) slipped into the top 10 with a 1-over in the second round as CU’s No. 3 golfer while
Blake Blakey (82-74—156) and
Todd Oakes (80-81—161) rounded out the squad.
The third and final round of play will begin at 9 a.m. with a shotgun Start at the River Bend Golf Course.
