Cavaliers Grounded 74-56 at Northwest

KIRKLAND, Wash.—
Held to just 20.6 percent shooting in the second half, Concordia fell to Northwest 74-56 in Cascade Collegiate Conference women’s basketball action on Friday night. 

With the result, NU improved to 15-8 overall and 12-4 in the CCC while Concordia dropped to 11-14 overall and 5-10 in league play. 

The Cavaliers held close for much of the first half, trailing by seven with the score 39-32 at the break, but poor sjoting in eth second half doomed the CU comeback hopes as the Eagles soared to the 18-point win. 

Jessica Wilkerson led the Eagles with 20 points after firing on 7-of-16 attempts from the floor. Wilkerson was joined by a pair of teammates in double figures with Jessalyn Jackson adding 13 and Emily Drivstuen tallying a dozen points off the bench. 

Danielle Clauson paced the Cavs with 14 points while Rachel Scarpelli finished with 13. Sarah Eischen, returning to action after missing the past five games with an injury, finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. 

The Eagles shot 42.4 percent for the game compared to 32.8 percent for the Cavs. Concordia outrebounded the home team 43-40 but turned the ball over 21 times to just 15 for NU. 

Concordia remains on the road to face Evergreen State on Saturday. Opening tip is slated for 5:#0 p.m. in Olympia, Wash.
