Eight Cavaliers Named Academic All-CCC

PORTLAND, Ore.—Five members of the men’s basketball team and three member of the women’s basketball team were recognized by the Cascade Collegiate Conference for their efforts in the classroom by earning Academic All-CCC honors as announced by the league office on Monday.

Representing the men’s team were sophomores Gage Aker and Drew Preuninger, junior Jason Yecny and seniors Matt Ochs and Jeff Sego. Danielle Clauson and Sarah Eischen, both juniors, and sophomore Rachel Scarpelli represented the women’s squad.

A total of 70 Cascade Collegiate Conference student-athletes in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball earned Academic All-CCC honors for their performances on the court and in the classroom. To earn recognition as a CCC scholar-athlete, a student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and sophomore standing.
